Maxine Lester - Director and Investment Specialist Coach
Before starting Maxine Lester Residential Lettings in 2005, Maxine had quite a varied career within insurance (where she was one of just 150 female brokers at Lloyds of London – a very uncommon breed at the time), recruitment, and latterly marketing with a video entertainment company in Peterborough, looking after 6,000 customers throughout the UK and Germany. During this time she began to build her portfolio of properties with her husband and was constantly frustrated about how badly her agent looked after her properties, the rotten customer service, and the total lack of communication.
She realised that if she wanted a job doing well, then she should just do it herself. Bizarre timing meant that redundancy from her job freed her up to do what she had always wanted to – work for herself and have a company that stood up for the standards she had been searching for.
Since opening the Maxine Lester doors with her husband Matthew, they have never looked back, and it can only be put down to the knowledgeable team they have built to working alongside them. Over the years, they have been recognised by their peers, winning national accolades such as the ESTAs and Times & Sunday Times Awards.

OBE Kate Faulkner is one of the UK’s leading property experts. She is passionate that most of the problems in the residential property market can be solved if the media, industryand government worked together to educate consumers on how to carry out property projects. To aid this, Kate has set up a free consumer education site, PropertyChecklists, and working groups for Home Buying and Selling and The Lettings Industry Council, which are attended by DLUHC.
Kate regularly features on BBC TV and radio, including You and Yours and Moneybox. She has also appeared on ITV’s This Morning and co-hosted LBC’s Property Hour.
